One of the bonuses of the ‘Crush it with Bev’ golf tourney, is getting to hang with my fundraising committee. This week we got to try out Copper Creek on a sunny day in Kleinburg. My talented committee has been with me from the start – from left, Patty Parker, Claudia Egger, myself, Patti Ristich, and, of course, my husband Ron Foreman. What a colourful bunch and I’m not just talking golf attire. We all agreed Copper Creek is an amazing course that’s sure to impress. Beautifully kept and well-designed, it’s a premier golf experience.
Registrations are coming in at a good pace and we thank those of you who have signed up. We aim to ‘sell out’ and reach our goal of $650,000 at the end of 2024. Right now we stand at $503,000 after three years of fundraising. It’s been most gratifying to donate to Sunnybrook Hospital which has given me and so many Canadians longer, healthier lives.
When I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2019, I was given six months to three years to live. Coincidentally that day was July 30, 2019 – exactly five years to the date of our upcoming tournament. My friends this is not a miracle; it’s due to Sunnybrook’s groundbreaking research and dedicated staff. I cannot do enough for my oncology team and Sunnybrook Hospital.
